  • I've lived in many high end buildings in Chicago, New York, London and Paris and I'm used to very responsive management.  Brent, the property manager here is as good as any I've ever dealt with. I am a very demanding resident and Brent is always polite, professional and very responsive to every request I make and I'll acknowledge that I'm sure  that I am one of the pickiest and most demanding residents he has here and despite that fact he's always such a pleasure to deal with.

    I can only give Brent 5 stars here but he truly deserves ten stars.

    Thank you Brent for your outstanding dedication and service to our community.

  • It has not been all bad but I am glad to be leaving for these primary reasons:

    Everything is blackened from being so close to the freeway.  We took some pictures off the wall and you can see the shade difference in the paint...we run 3 air purifiers and change our air filter regularly.

    People let their dogs toilet in the common area and do not pick up the poop when they take them out front.

    The people above are so very noisy.  They stomp, bang, move furniture and whatever else all night and day.  They frequently wake us up being very loud above our bedroom in the very early morning hours (2 a.m.)  Good luck to those getting ready to move into unit 120....hope you are a heavy sleeper and don't mind constant noise from above.

    We love the cleaning ladies and the great job they do.  
    The parking is nice.
    The layout of the apartment is nice.

    Overall, it has had  issues but it could have been worse.  Solid 3 star.

    Once again we can't get into our garage.  Over one month ago we told the office that our garage lifter keys were not working and we had replaced the batteries in ALL 3 sets.  The office lady said we could have new lifters (3)....well that was not the problem just like we suspected.  It has become so bad that we are forced to get out of our vehicles and walk up to the gate pressing the buttons (on 3 different sets) 75-100 times to get it to lift up.  Tonight I called the emergency maintenance because my daughter had a hard time getting in to the garage and the driveway was getting backed up, creating a dangerous problem.  The maintenance guy said he was not coming to lift the gate up because a part was on order.  I said that he needed to for safety sake until the part comes.  He said he would give me a code to push on the key pad.  I explained to him that people with disabilities or without legs can't get out of their car to do this.  This is in addition to another loud drinking party in the court yard this weekend.  This week I have observed our neighbor with the small white fluffy dog letting it urinate on the big planters in the courtyard...so lazy that you cant take your dog out to the grass in front.   Why?  Just why?   It took 6 months to have our shower door semi fixed...6 MONTHS! I do not recommend leasing here.

    This is the maintenance work....the entire heavy garage gait is rigged with a rope to keep it up since it is broken (and has been broken lately.) My teen sent this pic to me because she thinks it is so dangerous. She went to the office to inquire about it and was told that they would talk to maintenance to make sure it is tight. I am pretty sure this is not safe.

    In addition since my previous update they have bolstered their positive reviews at fountain park....

    Shortly after I posted my review and received generic apologies there was another large, loud party in the common area.  People were drunk, signs with profanity hung up, dogs running around off leash, and loud chaos.  The community manager sent out a note to all residents that this is not acceptable and in addition quiet time is 10 pm and after....thus no music, vacuuming, etc.  What is completely ironic is they sent their cleaning and painting crew to the vacated apartment next to us at 1 a.m.!!!!  I woke up to loud banging on the wall and upon investigating found the cleaning and painting crew in full swing until 4:30 a.m.  The management is a complete mess right now.  Clearly, there is very little concern for current residents and complete lack of leadership.  For the price we pay this is completely unacceptable....and what you get is a very generic, insincere apology....almost like a robot responds.  Again, I invite any potentials to message me and I will provide pics/ video clips to you--so that you can make an informed decision.  If you search Fountain Park Apartments in Playa vista and read the reviews you will see that similar things happen there.  This is important because these are all the same management team.  Brent, our previous manager went there and this is where crystal seems to be as well.  Our new manager, I believe, came from there too.  I think they are all buddies and so there is a lack of real accountability.

    If you have a repair that needs to taken care of....I wish you luck.  Maintenance does not show up or shows up late for all agreed upon times.  Seriously, there is a clear lack of communication and customer service.  If you are considering to rent here, please send me a message and I will give you an honest review.  Rent here is not cheap but customer service is.  Brent is no longer the manager here.   Other issues we have had are loud parties in the court yard, dogs running around off leash, and trash piled up high....generally I accept those things as something that happens in apartment communities BUT these maintenance issues are well within their control.  The cleaning ladies are wonderful here though.  They work so hard and arrive well before anyone else.

  • Generally a great place to live in West LA.

    Pros
    +Spacious units for the price considering its West LA.
    +Washer/Dryer/Dishwasher
    +Garage parking
    +Friendly office staff
    +Maintenance issues resolved reasonably fast
    +Mailroom not accessible to public so packages get stolen WAY less than a lot of LA
    +Common area not accessible to public so even packages left at your door instead of mailroom are ok

    OK
    ~Right next to 405 where people like to test their motorcycle's acceleration, BUT even the units on that side of the building are pretty well insulated so I don't notice traffic most of the time
    ~Mailroom can be annoying sometimes with ton of boxes everywhere BUT management (Brent/Courtney) did a good job of revising the area last year so its not as bad anymore.
    ~Sometimes people have loud parties in the common area BUT it hasn't happened in awhile since management left a letter on everyones door

    Cons
    -Water takes 3+ minutes to get anywhere near hot and even after warming up, shower can randomly go ice cold for a few minutes
    -Water heaters outside apartment make a weird vibrating noise sometimes
    -Garage gate is broken every other month and even after they recently "fixed" the unit in 2019 still sometimes takes a bit of clicking to get in

    Even with these issues, I've looked at other places, and honestly can't imagine that I'll be moving anywhere else in West LA. Compared to other places Ive lived this is a 4/5, but for West LA I have to go with 5/5

  • This review is long overdue, but I absolutely loved living at Bellerive. I moved in early 2018 and everything went seamlessly from touring, applying and move in day. I lived in a 2 bedroom. It was spacious, clean and just an overall beautiful apartment. I loved the neighborhood and the other residents in the building were mostly to themselves, but pleasant. I believe the building was built as condos originally, because the sound proofing was amazing. Lastly, Courtney in the office is the absolute sweetest person ever! She is also, super responsive with any of your needs or concerns. You never get the vibe that you are annoying her and she does everything with a smile! I was so sad when I realized that I had to move out of the area for work, but given the opportunity I would definitely move back!

  • Great location for everything! East to shop, eat, hangout, walk and of course stay. I love here.You can just walk to the main district (sawtelle little Osaka town) easily (like 5-10min). The property manager Courtney is amazing! She is very kind and easy-going. I have lived in LA for 5 years but here is best place for living until now. One day, I saw she was putting all the resident's packages to the front door of each residents units. I believe this is not easy action that all the leasing manager for apt can do or willing to do. She always smile and make your stay at Bellerive easier and makes your day! It never disappoints me that this place is not worth to pay for it! Also Bellerive provides flexible lease so you can choose your lease terms according to your needs. I really love this community and neighbors as well. They are all good people and you meet those good people when you decided to live here! Besides, here is a great community for dogs and cats as well. Most of the residents own some kind s of pets so you get the chance to interact with them!So for all apt hunters, Come join our community!!!   • Overall, I'm happy with living here. I realize that most of my pains in living in the complex, aren't usually a result of the apartment or management, and usually a result of just apartment living. For example: The neighbors above us, clearly have a beagle. They also like to stay up pretty late, and one of them wakes up fairly early. Combine that with the thin padding between the floors, and it sounds like they are stomping, not stepping, around their place. The dog also likes to howl/bark.
    Speaking of dogs, the unit is dog friendly, yay!! The fourplex outside our exterior wall windows, has a large dog that barks, at all hours of the day- including past midnight. Although we've complained, it seems like nothing happens. Again, this is just apartment and city living, I guess?
    Where I would say however, the management has lacked responsiveness, is in a few security issues/proactive measures. Earlier this year there were several incidents of the main, front entry doors just not closing and locking. Considering these doors face the sidewalk in a heavy pedestrian area, I was upset about this.
    I've also emailed over some examples of other entry doors not closing completely, or even being forcibly propped open, over night. Security is my highest concern in where I live, and recently our hallway light were simply not on for some weird reason.
    Late last year, our complex did experience some thefts. My friend's bike was stolen OUT OF OUR OWN BIKE GARAGE (which is key-protected, within the parking garage), and a few of my own items were taken from a camping tote that we kept in front of our car. There was a man who also was frequently drinking a twelve pack of beer in our private courtyard, smoking, and passing out around midnight, for all to see when we woke up in the morning.
    It wasn't until complaining that additional security precautions were taken and while I'm happy we have them NOW, it's a shame it took the frustration of several tenants to make these changes happen.
    Our apartment half-faces the freeway side, and unfortunately it's way noisier than I thought it would be. With the windows shut, I run a white noise filter fan in the evening to help drown out the whizzing sounds of cars and bikes going south on the 405 :(

    Management has only changed once since I've lived here, the building size is a good mix of feeling small enough to know everyone but not so big delivery guys get lost, and I really love the grilling area, and how clean everything usually stays. However, there seem to be a few college students that clearly give no care to the concept of throwing the trash actually down the trash chute, instead of just sitting it next to the trash chute.

    Again, I think the main points of living here have been just overall apartment living, not the apartment in particular.
